Hi everyone, my name is Agastya Govind and I am currently a first-year student studying Computer Science at UNSW. I achieved HSC marks of 97 in Mathematics Extension 1, 96 in Software Design and Development and 95 in Mathematics Extension 2.
I have competed in several competitions throughout high school including the AMC (High Distinction), AIO (Gold - top 3%), the UNSW Schools Mathematics Competition (2nd from school), the UNSW Prog Comp (23rd place nationally) and CAT (Distinction).
I also achieved a 35 on the ACT test (American College Admissions Test); 36 English, 35 Maths, 32 Reading, 36 Science.
I was part of the Debating A team for my year at Sydney Boys High School since Year 9. Our team won several competitions including the Premier's Debating Competition and the Greater Public Schools Competition. In Year 12 I was selected to the Combined High School Team.
In chess, I have achieved a peak ACF quick rating of 1825, placing me among the top 400 players nationally and top 200 in the state. Online, I have achieved ratings of 2000+, placing me within the 99.9th percentile.
I would describe my teaching style as collaborative; I like to work with the student closely in order to help unlock their potential. I will also be available outside of teaching hours to respond to any concerns the student may have.
