I am currently studying Bachelor of Science/Medicine (Provisional Entry to Medicine) at the University of Queensland, and am in my 3rd year. The key element that most students are missing to excel in high school is a structured, disciplined study plan/program which I simplify and deliver as 3 SIMPLE STEPS: 1️⃣ Learning/UNDERSTANDING the content: I teach the concepts and underlying principles of subject content, adhering very closely to the syllabus which covers all examinable content. I also cover extra content specific to the school. I provide tips to memorise the content, and use practice questions and answers to illustrate the content in a question setting. 2️⃣ Practice applying the content: I provide new resources and practice questions for the student to apply the concepts learnt, and give a rough idea of the types of questions that can be asked in an exam. I provide full, explained answers, and encourage students to go over all of their own answers and reflect on where they went wrong and where they could have improved (most essential part). 3️⃣ Mock exams: In lessons close to exams once all content is covered, I go through exams that students completed to give complete feedback and identify weaknesses. I encourage students to complete these exams in full exam conditions to maximise performance in real exams. I also provide tips on exam performance, such as time management and how to prepare mentally. I believe there are no fancy tricks or special methods for a student to excel, only discipline, self-reflection, and hard work.
