99.50 ATAR | All Rounders 2023 | SHORE 2023 🔥 | 96 Modern History | 95 English Advanced | 🔥 Studying a Bachelor of Commerce/Laws at USYD, starting in 2024. Favourite subjects in the HSC were Modern History (96/100) and English Advanced (95/100), despite all the essay writing required haha! I'd like to help my students excel by really digging down into the key aspects of modules they will be studying in the HSC and especially looking at my past experience to show what is necessary in exams and preparation to get great marks. Current English Tutor at SHORE (North Sydney) HSC Marks: Atar: 99.50 English Advanced (95/100) - 96 in HSC exam English EXT 1 (46/50) Modern History (96/100) Mathematics EXT 2 (91/100) Mathematics EXT 1 (93/100) German Continuers (90/100) German Extension (46/50) English Tutoring: I am very eager to teach students how to master not only essays and the different styles of MOD C, but also the reading tasks which students often neglect. The texts I studied were: The Crucible (Common MOD), The Stranger and The Meursault Investigation (MOD A) and King Henry IV Part 1 (MOD B). In teaching the various Modules I believe it is necessary to really question what the module is asking for in a response, be it a comparison of two different contexts, a critical study which relates the messages of the past to the present nature of society today or even the way the diverse human experience manifests itself in society. Modern History Tutoring: For students in their HSC year, I am a demon at Power and Authority, the section of the exam which is statistically always done the worst. I will be able to ensure all my students that they will know how to attack all different sorts of source questions. For the national study I did the USSR under Stalin (1917-41) and would be happy to help anyone, specifically those doing this elective. For Peace and Conflict, I did Conflict in Indochina (1954-79) and for the Change in the Modern World I studied China until Tiananmen Square. Mathematics Tutoring: Will be able to provide help for students doing 4U maths, but more specifically targeted for students doing 3U maths. Am able to use techniques learned during my 4U study to help solve harder 3U questions. German Tutoring: I have studied German since year 8 at high school. Was disappointed with the continuers result. Have a strong understanding of how german grammar works and what is needed to get good marks in all sections of the German HSC exams, especially in the reading and RRB sections. For German extension, I did relatively well and would be able to give good help with how to prepare for the monologue. I also provide a strong understanding of the concepts in the prescribed text Tschick, which would be helpful for the other exam sections. Standard hourly rate is $60 During the week, students can send in drafts which will be thoroughly marked and given plenty of feedback at any time for a price of $10 per draft sent through.
