Hi I’m Jason Dunn and I received an ATAR of 99.30 (all rounders). I graduated in 2023 as the Dux and School Captain of Sydney Science College (transferred from Baulkham Hills High School after year 10). I am currently studying medicine at Western Sydney University. On top of that, I received a Bronze Medal at the 2023 International Biology Olympiad, a competition with over 300 students from 80 countries. I also came 1st in NSW and 4th nationally in the Brain Bee, a neurology competition for Year 10 students. My individual subject scores are: - Biology: 94 - Chemistry: 92 - English Advanced: 91 - Maths Ext 1: 94 - Maths Ext 2: 91 --- I offer 2 hour online and in-person tutoring for Preliminary and HSC Biology, and 1 hour online UCAT preparation. Over the past four years, I have tutored and prepared over 50 students for Biology. I am also an official tutor at the Biology Olympiad Summer Camp, a program which selects 24 of the best biology students from across Australia. My experience has allowed me to develop my teaching and communication skills which has proven effective when catering to students of various knowledge levels. As such, my teaching style is applicable for students of all abilities, from those struggling with early concepts to those who are excelling but want an additional edge over their peers. Lastly, after working hard for over a year to achieve a UCAT score of 3270 (top 2%), I received multiple medical interview offers. Through my lessons, I aim to pass on the countless techniques and strategies that helped me improve my score, as well as the proper mindset that allows for improvement throughout the arduous preparation process. --- STRUCTURED LESSONS: I focus on going through the theory first, followed by answering exam style questions where I provide feedback and marking. My lessons are catered toward the student's unique learning style and I adapt depending on their needs e.g. some may prefer a focus on theory and notes, while others may understand the content but find it difficult to structure their responses in a way that plays toward the marking criteria. I provide 2 hour HSC lessons, as the extended class time deepens understanding and improves learning. For UCAT preparation, a one hour lesson is more suitable as we focus on correcting habits and developing techniques through a progress check. My online lessons are conducted through Zoom where students can view my notes and diagrams from my iPad which allows for a seamless learning experience. This saves valuable time for students and does not detract from the quality of the lesson. --- EXPERIENCE 4 years tutoring students in Biology, helping over 50 students ranging from ages 15-18 with various levels of knowledge.
