✨DUX ATAR of my school ✨ HSC All-Rounder ✨ USYD Law/ Arts student ✨ 5 years English tutoring experience ✨ Hey there! I am Lana, a graduate of the class of 2023. I achieved band 6/E4's in all 11 units that I undertook for my HSC, coming out with the DUX ATAR of my cohort. I am starting university this year as a Bachelor of Law/ Arts (History) student at the University of Sydney. Due to my five years of experience assisting students as a tutor, I understand the impact the right kind of help can have in informing and empowering a student in their studies. I am particularly enthused by the opportunity to transfer the passion I have for the humanities subjects to the students I guide in order to boost their confidence as they apply themselves to them. When tutoring I take a very individualised approach, as I acknowledge the nuance of each student's experience with the humanities subjects (as, by nature, these subjects are vast in their subtleties), helping fill gaps by observing where they lie. The subjects I tutor in are: - Ancient History (HSC mark of 97) - English Advanced - English Extension 2 - Modern History - History Extension For the English subjects I can guide students with their drafts (marking & suggesting) and also provide them with advice and analytical skills to maximise their marks, as well as formulas to follow depending on the writing task (e.g. how to write effective reflection statements & reading task responses). They will also be given samples of my work according to their current area of study (ie what module I guide them through), such as exemplar pieces for Module C. With Extension 2 specifically, I will be able to guide the student through the idea development, research, and drafting process. For the humanities, I can provide skill based tutoring, including that which is necessary for assessment tasks, and exemplar material from the core sections, including exemplar Power and Authority paragraphs for Modern History & detailed notes on Cities Of Vesuvius for Ancient History.
