Hi there!
My name is Hamish, and I am a student currently studying my Bachelor of Medical Sciences at Macquarie University.
I graduated from St Andrew's Cathedral School with my International Baccalaureate Diploma in 2022 with an IB Score of 44/45 (ATAR equivalent 99.75). I performed well in all subjects however particularly enjoyed studying Philosophy, Language and Literature, and Environmental Systems and Societies. I also have a keen interest in Biological Sciences, and alongside my Medical Sciences degree, I work as a Veterinary Nurse at a clinic on the North Shore. I have been playing guitar for 8 years.
I've taken guitar lessons for 6 years, and can teach beginner guitar for rock, pop, and beginner jazz playing. I can teach tablature and chord chart reading, both electric and acoustic guitar. Although adept in music theory and able to teach music theory and sheet music reading in an academic context, I do not teach sheet music reading for guitar.
I offer high school tutoring (Year 7-10), as well as International Baccalaureate tutoring in the above subjects.
I offer online tutoring, and in person tutoring for those within the Sydney North Shore Area. This will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. I also offer group tutoring for a reduced rate. I am friendly and aim to tutor interactively. I understand firsthand the stresses of the final years of secondary education, and want to use my tutoring capabilities to assist in alleviating these pressures as much as possible.
I am flexible, and understand the occasional need to cancel or reschedule sessions. I will aim to be as flexible as possible in helping you out.
My tutoring rates are as follows:
Academic Tutoring:
Year 7-10: Single lessons: $50 per hour; Group lessons: $40 per person per hour
IB/HSC: Single lessons: $70 per hour; Group lessons: $45 per person per hour
Guitar Tutoring: Single lessons: $30 per half hour, $50 per hour; Group lessons: $25 per person per half hour, $40 per person per hour
Please note that an additional fee of $5 per hour per person applies for in-person tutoring sessions. I am responsive, and look forward to hearing from you soon to work out how I can best help you!
