𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗣 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗘𝗫𝗔𝗠 𝗦𝗧𝗬𝗟𝗘 𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦: Surprisingly, a substantial portion of 𝑨𝑳𝑳 Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry HSC and assessment exams are 𝑹𝑬𝑰𝑻𝑬𝑹𝑨𝑻𝑰𝑶𝑵𝑺 of past exam questions! So, I teach my students detailed step-by-step processes of how to optimally approach these common styles of questions found in exams. 𝗘𝗫𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗜𝗥 𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚: I guide my students through more difficult applications of the content in order to 𝑴𝑨𝑺𝑻𝑬𝑹𝑭𝑼𝑳𝑳𝒀 answer the infamously hard BAND 6 questions which appear at the end of exams. By breaking down and analysing these questions with my students, not only do my students develop an 𝑬𝑿𝑻𝑬𝑵𝑺𝑰𝑽𝑬 𝑼𝑵𝑫𝑬𝑹𝑺𝑻𝑨𝑵𝑫𝑰𝑵𝑮 𝑶𝑭 𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑪𝑶𝑵𝑻𝑬𝑵𝑻, but they develop the analytical skills required to solve multi-step problems in 𝑼𝑵𝑭𝑨𝑴𝑰𝑳𝑰𝑨𝑹 𝑪𝑶𝑵𝑻𝑬𝑿𝑻𝑺, which is VITAL for answering the questions at the end of HSC exams that students simply cannot prepare for. 𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗘𝗪𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗜𝗥 𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 '𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗞𝗘𝗦': I provide my students with an exam-style work booklet (progresses from simplistic to complex questions), for them to complete at home. The booklet is marked and I carefully analyse my students' mistakes with them. Over time, this results in the complete eliminations of the infamous 𝑪𝑨𝑹𝑬𝑳𝑬𝑺𝑺 𝑴𝑰𝑺𝑻𝑨𝑲𝑬𝑺 which costs students so many marks. Analysing my student's mistakes also reveals the gaps in their knowledge and thus allows me to structure my following lessons to fill these gaps.
