I'm Leyi, a Graduate of Hornsby Girls High School (HGHS) with a 99+ ATAR, studying a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) (English major) at the University of Sydney. According to UAC (Universities Admissions Centre), I achieved the highest ATAR accepted into the degree in the 2024 USYD admissions process.
My best subjects are English Advanced, English Extension One and English Extension Two and I'm an HSC all-rounder achiever.
I'm working as a private one-to-one tutor ($92/Hour for Y7-10) or $105/Hour for Y11-12) and a group tutor ($47/Hour).
I'm leading a coaching centre which has other qualified tutors available for teaching. Their rates are different depending on their ATAR and working experience: Private one-to-one tutor ($67-92/hour for Y7-10 or $92-110/Hour for Y11-12).
My strength is writing (particularly essay writing and creative/discursive/persuasive writing) which helped me rank 2nd out of 119 students in English Advanced/English Extension. I also ranked 1st in Geography Accelerated at HGHS.
In 2024, I was accepted as a scholar in the prestigious University of Sydney Summer Research Scholarship 2024-25, completing academic research and writing with top Education faculty academics at USYD.

Leyi singlehandedly got me through selective writing and improved my abilities enough that I was able to get into a very good high school. She is capable and understanding and, having been through the school system herself, understands the difficulties of the it. Leyi puts you in very good hands and is definitely a top choice as a writing tutor.

I can't recommend LYT Education (the tutoring centre Leyi runs) enough! Since I started learning there last year, my knowledge and skills have grown immensely. Going to Leyi's English tutoring class is a highlight of the week. Before Leyi's class, I used to struggle with writing more than a few paragraphs. But now, thanks to Leyi's amazing teaching, I can write extended pieces for the first time ever! It feels like I've unlocked a secret power.
Not only that, but Leyi has also helped me improve my memory and vocabulary skills. I used to be scared of writing, but now I look forward to it because I know Leyi will be there to guide me every step of the way. The depth of dedication and knowledge possessed by Leyi and other teachers at LYT Education, coupled with their extensive bank of English resources and unique approach to marking, effectively enabled me to achieve my academic goals. Leyi is able to articulate English concepts in a way that is suitable to each and every student - whether they are looking to catch up or extend their learning. I think that’s a direct reflection of her studying an Education degree. The feedback in particular helped to develop my writing style and finesse the delivery of my arguments. Furthermore, the interactive learning style of the lessons, where we actually wrote responses (such as introductions, topic sentences or body paragraphs) to various essay questions and immediately followed up with class discussion of responses and teacher feedback, really helped develop my critical thinking skills and my ability to smash my school exams.

I applied her teaching in my writing and found it much easier. Her constant writing feedback and attention to detail helped me improve rapidly. I love writing now.

I LOVE attending Leyi’s English group tutoring class! She’s able to explain concepts very well, and I’m able to differentiate between the different text structures (creative, persuasive, essay, newspaper articles, etc). Ever since I started with Leyi, I have improved significantly in all components of English. I value how she not only has given me tips for all my assessments but she’s also given me advice for high school in general which has helped me during the transition between primary and secondary which we all know is a big change.
