My name is Jaime, and I recently graduated from Ascham Girls' School in 2023. In Year 12, I studied 11 units of work: English Advanced, Maths Extension 1, Maths Extension 2, Chemistry, Latin Continuers and Latin Extension. I am currently enrolled at University of Sydney to major in Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and minor in Philosophy. Teaching Style and Lesson Overview: As a tutor, I aim to provide methods of teaching to my students that are altogether engaging, memorable and effective, and most importantly tailored to the students' preferred style of learning. It is crucial to recognise that different students will have different capabilities and learning curves, and that it is the duty of the tutor to acknowledge and adapt their own style of teaching to cater to these needs. In my lessons, I will alternate between two main styles that students can freely choose from: in the first, students can bring to me questions or queries that I will answer and thoroughly explain. In the second, I will prepare notes or content to teach didactically, as well as application questions to go through together (or if the student wishes to tackle the problem individually, they may do so!). The latter style resonates largely off the former, in that I can recognise areas of difficulty that the student is facing, and thus adjust my content to strengthen those areas. Subjects that I offer tutoring for include: - English Advanced (Y7-12)* - Mathematics (Y7-10) - Maths Extension 1 (Y11-12) - Latin (Y7-10) - Latin Extension (Y12)** - Chemistry (Y7-12) Changes to this can apply depending on circumstance. I currently offer one-to-one tuition for online help, and from March 2024 (TBD), I will also accept in-person home visits to my house in St Ives.
