I’m Marcus and I recently graduated from Sydney Grammar School in 2023 with an ATAR of 99.50 and as a HSC All-Rounder. At the moment I am undertaking a Bachelor of Law & Commerce as a Dalyell Scholar at the University of Sydney. 🔖 My 2023 HSC Results: Mathematics Advanced: 97/100 (98/100 in HSC Exam and Top 5 at Sydney Grammar) Mathematics Extension 1: 46/50 (Top 3 from non 4U cohort) French Continuers: 97/100 (1st Internally & Perfect 100/100 in Trials) French Extension: 46/50 (5th in NSW) Italian Continuers: 97/100 (State Rank equivalent) Chemistry: 92/100 As a specialist Modern Language and Mathematics tutor that has both excellent knowledge of the ins & outs of the syllabus and close to a year of experience in teaching, I have collected a vast amount of wisdom that has generated excellent results among my tutees. I take an interactive yet personalised approach to tutoring and in general take great pride in my tutees’ academic performance increases. My diversified tutoring style revolves around motivating my students and being highly approachable in both the academic and extra-curricular world. Maths was not the strongest subject for the most part of my high-school life - in younger years I was a top English student but ultimately I applied a core set of strategies that significantly boosted my performance in a short space of time. I seek to transfer my own personal experiences to students in similar positions to ensure they know how to take the most suitable route to reaching their academic potential. My daughter Johanna had just finished year 10 when we first engaged Marcus' services at the end of 2022 through some friends. Despite her strong marks in her literary subjects, science and maths had always been a real struggle for her, and she finished year 10 far below average at her school in both her science and mathematics exams. Despite his own stress being in year 12 in 2023, Marcus saw Johanna weekly to help her with her own work, and we could not have been more pleased. He was patient, kind and always had various different ways of explaining and practicing skills to make sure she understood. During the entire year, he only missed a lesson during his own examinations, and was otherwise wonderfully diligent in tutelage. Johanna finished with a distinction in Chemistry and Mathematics last year for her year 11 exams. I cannot recommend this young man enough for your own aspiring teenager! Victoria G.

Marcus recently started tutoring my son in French and Maths and he has been excellent. He goes above and beyond by always being prepared before lessons with a lot of materials, and providing support to my son outside of lessons whenever needed. He has a unique teaching style and explains difficult content in mathematics thoroughly yet clearly. My son had issues with French speaking and grammar but Marcus managed to resolve this issue with no time in the lead-up to his annual exams, helping him to become more confident and achieve a significantly better result. Marcus is a professional individual who is punctual and efficient as a tutor. He helps me in languages and science, and his preparation for lessons is excellent - he carries impressive communication skills and is very organised. His breadth of knowledge across languages has enabled me to improve my fluency - Marcus carries a unique skill set and has an understanding of the intricacies of Modern Languages, passing on tricks on how to speak as a native. While helping less with Science, Marcus has a very large resource bank that helps to explain concepts and pass on a true wealth of knowledge to me in an easy fashion. He has been great and I would opt for him in any subject.
