Over the years, I have picked up a plethora of ways to excel in and teach Mathematics. I am able to understand what works and does not work for students when it comes to their learning in the subject. Hence, in addition to teaching concepts, I believe relevant study methods must also be taught in order to facilitate improvement. I will be interlinking the application of Spaced Repetition, Active Recall using flashcards, and Feynman technique to help students improve in the subject. 📚English Lesson Structure (Years 7-10): 📝Writing 🖋️Go through sample writing 🖋️ Introduce relevant writing styles and conventions 🖋️ Expand vocabulary 🖋️ Learn how to apply concepts and vocabulary into writing ✍️ Taking small steps in essential in improving writing. Hence, a methodical step-by-step approach is important to enhance and build up writing skills. 📝Analysis 🖋️Learn how to analyse literature from relevant grade material (e.g. how to annotate, identify main ideas, etc) 🖋️Introduce literary devices employed in different texts 🖋️Develop vocabulary that aids analysis and interpretation of the text 🖋️Learn how to support analysis with text-based evidence in a structured and well-developed manner. 📝Grammar 🖋️Learn parts of speech (nouns, verbs, etc) where grade relevant 🖋️Practice to improve sentence structure 🖋️Learn how to identify and fix grammatical errors 🖋️Learn how to make sentences fancy✨ VCE Subjects Lesson Structure 🧑‍🎓Review in class using practice questions + Feynman technique 🧑‍🎓Teach relevant content 🧑‍🎓 Consistently apply knowledge to 📝exam questions 📝 🧑‍🎓 Extend students from what they learnt in school 🧑‍🎓Homework employing the relevant study techniques ‼️In VCE, it is crucial to not only learn content but also learn how to apply this knowledge into Exam and SAC questions. It is crucial that students extend themselves beyond what is taught in class and utilise their resources to maximise their output. It is essential to employ spaced repetition, active recall, and priming to perform to the best of your ability. I will not only be helping you comprehend the content, but will also teach you how to best employ study techniques to optimize your learning.
