About

Hi! I'm Chelsea, and am available for English and History tutoring for years 7-12. I achieved a 94.20 atar at Loreto Normanhurst and am about to study a Bachelor of Laws at UTS. Throughout all of high school, my favourite and best subjects were definitely English and History. For my HSC subjects, I ended up doing English Advanced, English Extension 1, and English Extension 2, and achieved Band 6's in each of them. Whilst English tutoring is my main specialty, I can also tutor in History. For my HSC, I achieved Band 6's in History Extension and Ancient History, with my school placing first overall in the state in Ancient. I also am able to tutor for Modern History, where I achieved a high Band 5. I have listed availability on my page, but honestly just contact me if you're interested and I am more than happy to coordinate a good time for tutoring. I'm really flexible since right now this is my only commitment other than Uni, and can therefore do tutoring in-person at your house, online, and or a mix of both. My teaching style is mainly to help build confidence, especially in courses like English Adv and Ext 1 where the content in year 11 and 12 becomes overwhelming. I can help specifically on preparing for exams or assignments, reading over essays and improving written responses, practicing exam techniques, and making sure I understand the students set texts, so that I can easily help them foster deeper meanings for them. As well as this, I am also able to be a mentor for the English Extension 2 Major Work. For my HSC, I did a fictocritical work on 'Breaking Bad,' and can therefore specifically help students achieve a Band 6 in a Major Work that is a critical essay.   • In year 11, I achieved two high distinctions in the Gifted and Talented program at Macquarie Uni for Philosophy and Critical Thinking, and Myths in the Ancient World.
