Hi everyone! My name is Jack! I am an experienced tutor in all of my specialist subjects with an ATAR of 99.00 in 2023. I have a huge passion for the subjects I tutor as well as for seeing my students improve from self-defined ‘strugglers’ to confident ‘Mathematic/Science’ thinkers. A little introduction about me: I came to Australia when I was in Year 8 and as you will expect, experienced difficulties in understanding the content taught in school and even the basic conversation in an everyday life situation. Having this previous experience as well as personally going through the journey of high school enabled me to understand how overwhelming and stressful especially Years 11 and 12 can be. Therefore, I developed a relaxed and motivating atmosphere in my tutoring style to help and encourage you to achieve more than you think you are capable of. HSC result: Math Extension 1: 98 Band6 Math Extension 2: 95 E4 Physics: 93 Band6 Chemistry: 95 Band6 By achieving these results, I believe consistent dedication and hard work are the most significant actions and my role as a tutor aims to make these processes more effective and efficient for you. Lesson structure: All sessions will be based on individual learning styles and needs. I have organised an extensive amount of my resources for all the subjects above including relevant notes, practice questions exemplar short-response etc. I will contact my students regularly during the week to discuss what has been taught in school and the most tricky part they found which will be the priority for the session. After I feel my students are comfortable enough we will go deeper into the syllabus dot point with my extensive resources. This will prevent the tragic situation of your school exam being a lot harder than what you are learning and taught in school which I found both me and my students experienced this kind of situation previously. I will also provide exam tips and tricks which ensure all of my students are exam-ready. After saying this, I am also more than willing to listen to my students' feedback on my approach to tutoring and will develop a unique approach to suit individuals' needs. I will also continue updating my resources with the current syllabus by adding more interesting notes or practice questions which ensures none of the students fall behind. After the session: I usually set a crazy amount of homework each week to cover all the possible content and aspects that can be assessed in your exam. I will mark all of your work and provide individualised extensive feedback on your questions. The questions you got wrong the week before will have similar types of questions in your homework this week to reinforce your understanding. Students are more than welcome to ask me any questions or just chat with me outside of the session time through email, phone, WeChat, QQ, Instagram and whatever you prefer. I usually respond to you fairly quickly not more than an hour to provide you with a solution to your question or mentor you in the ability I can. All of the above are included in my hourly rate. Rate: The first session will begin with a free phone call which I can know a little bit about you such as your school, current mark and rank and your struggle etc. I charge half of the normal rate for the first hour such as $30 instead of $50. $50 per hour and $90 for two hours for Yr11 to 12 I also conduct group sessions (maximum 4) at $40 per hour and $75 for two hours. I could also provide a marking service if you are only looking for feedback on your depth study or short response! (free for my regular students). The rate is negotiable.
