In Year 12, my HSC subjects were English Advanced, Maths Extension 1 & Advanced, Latin Continuers & Extension and Chemistry. Regarding the UCAT, the most common pitfall and mistake that I've seen students and peers fall into is the common misconception that 'one size fits all' or that there is 'only one correct method'. From my experience, it's best to experiment through practice to find out which methods are most suitable to you and it would be my responsibility as a tutor to guide you on this journey. Often when students sign up for online UCAT question banks and websites, they understandably throw themselves into hundreds of mini mocks and mocks with no particular plan or purpose and without a solid foundation. The UCAT is an incredibly difficult test that requires practice however in my opinion, students need to learn and understand the theory behind each subtest before doing full-timed mocks. With my tailored lessons, I'll be teaching students techniques that they first understand and then implement through questions. Only after they have achieved mastery in untimed questions, should they proceed to mini mocks and finally full mocks.
