About

I am a university tutor at the University of Melbourne where I lecture in education, sociology and wellbeing. I have a Masters in Teaching from the University of Melbourne, with qualifications in secondary English and History and a specialisation in student wellbeing. I am currently studying for a PhD in education. I have experience tutoring VCE English and humanities with expertise in essay writing including media analysis. I can also tutor in ESL with experience teaching IELTS with a focus on speaking. I have taught English overseas as well as in Melbourne with extensive tutoring and teaching experience. I also have a working with children check. I am a native German speaker and can also tutor for the German oral language exam. As an experienced university tutor and lecturer, I am strongly believe in teaching skills alongside content to ensure that students are not only well prepared for their exams but university. I often see students struggle in their first year of their undergraduate degrees due to a reliance on rote learning or cramming content. While content is critical, so is the ability to write well and think critically. I believe in the power of positive relationships in teaching and take a strength based approach to my tutoring. My availability has some flexibility, so please contact me to arrange a time.
