Hi all, I'm Edward Chen, I graduated from Caulfield Grammar School with an atar of 99.1 in 2023.
I'll get straight to the point — I want to help you achieve the highest scores possible. Particularly for a subject such as English, I have many friends who fell short of their dream ATAR solely because of English scores alone. Coming from someone who has experienced your every struggle, the suffering of VCE has allowed me to know what resources and support you are missing most.

I started with extremely low English scores- in year 9 I was averaging a consistent C+, yet by Year 12, I had achieved:
- 48 Raw in VCE English
- Raw 50 in GAT English (Full marks)
Not to mention for the "Frameworks (Creative)" Portion of the study design, I am the perfect person to help you excel!
- I achieved a 30/30 in my VCE Creative Writing SAC
- As well as currently averaging high distinction marks (HD) in my University of Melbourne Creative writing subjects.
- Winning Official Selection/ Shortlisted for (Top ten laurel) in the University of Melbourne and Australian writers guild screenwriting competition (Creative writing)
- Furthermore, a few of my 2024 students have received PERFECT 10s on Section B (Creative) of the exam through my tutoring!
Additionally, I have over 1200+ Hours of tutoring experience with students of every level, helping many students jump from C+ B level results to A’s and higher!
As of 2025: My students have achieved over 12 40+ raw study scores for english,
And 2 45+ raw ss as well, with my highest student score being 47 in 2025!

PHILOSOPHY:
Having studied VCE philosophy via VirtualSchoolVictoria [VSV] (as my school did not offer the subject),
I was in a cohort that had NEVER received a study score higher than 43, which made me the first person to EVER receive a study score of 45+ (46) in VSV philosophy.
I received PERFECT SAC scores!
Yet I had learnt all the content and studied only 2 days before every SAC,
Additionally, I had scored a 46 (putting me top 10 in the entire state):
Yet Studied only 2 days before my final,
Relearnt the entire year's content
and:
Completed 0 Practice exams.
Why?
Because I understood that Philosophy was unique from most other VCE subjects and thus one's approach to it must also be different, it is a subject not just about grinding and memorisation but truly understanding the logical workings of each philosopher.
Additionally, I have personal and detailed notes for every single Text and can give you a clear and distinct understanding of the very essence of the subject.
~With additional experience studying Philosophy as one of my majors at the university of Melbourne, I am easily capable of breaking down the new texts and providing specialised help in this coming study design (philosophy is my life)!!!
ECONOMICS:
Having accelerated Economics in 2022, my experience in this subject is more layered.
Jumping straight into unit 2, I have been taught by 2 amazing teachers. One of which is an Economics EXAMINER, and author of the VCE textbook.
I hope I can pass on the different strategies and unique methods of analysis to my students.
I believe that the most important thing in economics is consistent effort and logical thinking.
Scoring only 85% on my first SAC, my approach to economics has continuously evolved, and as such, my ability to teach and help students understand.
Additionally, a student whom I had tutored this year scored a RAW 43 in Economics 2023, even whilst jumping straight into 3/4 without doing 1/2.
~ Additionally, I have a full year of teaching assistance experience under a top VCE Economics Examiner & Co-author of the VCE textbook.
