Hi there! I’m Matthew Selim, and I’m thrilled to share that I’ve graduated in the top 10 of my cohort at St. Patrick's College (Strathfield) with a predicted ATAR of 98. Despite encountering some less-than-ideal teaching experiences along the way, I took the initiative to become a self-taught learner, diving deeply into my subjects. This challenge honed my academic skills and instilled in me the resilience and self-reliance crucial for success. My academic journey was enriched with rigorous study, competitive sports, and a special focus on mastering analytical writing to secure top marks. As I transition from student to educator, I’m ready to offer personalised, face-to-face tutoring, which I believe is paramount for academic success. In addition to my HSC studies, I completed a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, a Certificate IV in Aging Support and a Certificate III in Fitness. During high school, I balanced a demanding schedule of extracurricular activities with the academic rigour of the HSC. This experience has honed my skills not just in tackling but in excelling at written assessments. Now, I specialise in teaching students how to critically analyse questions and construct detailed written answers that meet the highest marking criteria for Chemistry and Biology. My tutoring approach is deeply personal and interactive, emphasising the effectiveness of face-to-face learning. This allows for immediate feedback, dynamic interaction, and a tailored educational experience that online platforms simply can’t match.
