𝟑 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐓𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐒𝐂 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 | 𝐔𝐒𝐲𝐝 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 | 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐲𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐁𝐨𝐲𝐬 Hi, I’m Aden, and I graduated from North Sydney Boys in 2020 with a scholarship to the University of Sydney. I now have three years of experience tutoring students across comprehensive and selective high schools, public and private. In that time I have been studying a Bachelor of Secondary Education, specialising in English and Modern History. In doing so, I have also gained real classroom experience as a high school teacher, and learned effective techniques to help you get the most out of your HSC. During the HSC, I achieved top bands (Band 6 or E4) in English Advanced, English Extension I, English Extension II, Modern History, and History Extension. Since 2020, I have given top-achievers from NSB, NSG, PLC, Hornsby Girls, and more the tools to succeed in the HSC, centring on an idea-based approach. How does this approach succeed? 1. I provide in-depth, comprehensible teaching of English and History’s big ideas, with real life examples to give you a full understanding. What is postmodernism? Freudian psychoanalysis? How do I use them in my essay? These questions will become easy to answer. 2. I then help students work these ideas into a unique essay, providing feedback at every step of the way. School teaches you the basics of essay writing, but only gives 20s to those who break the rules. I’m interested in teaching you how to break them. 3. Before exams, I help students assemble these essays into an actionable plan to adapt to any essay question while preserving the quality of the writing. You will barely need to memorise, and you will still write a banger essay. Importantly, you will enjoy the experience. Educational experts have shown time and time again that a love for learning creates the best outcomes. Part of our journey is that I will get to know your interests and passions, and weave them into our lessons to make becoming an English expert or young Historian as fun and easy as possible.
