About
Hello,
I was the Head of English, Humanities and the Advanced Learning Program at Alphington Grammar School in Melbourne, Victoria.
In 2015, I graduated as the Dux of English and History from Carey Baptist Grammar School, before then completing a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in History and Politics, at Melbourne University.
Throughout my undergraduate degree, I coached more than 15 students to scores above 40 in English. This very rewarding experience led me to complete a Master of Teaching at Melbourne University, where I became a registered teacher.
I have just completed my tenure at Alphington Grammar, where I taught VCE English, History and Politics, as I am building a start-up that aims to help improve the quality of writing instruction and feedback in the English classroom.
I hold a Master of Education in Student Wellbeing, and have also completed a thesis focused on optimal methods for teaching spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
At 26, I'm close enough in age to recall the challenges of being a student, yet I possess the technical knowledge and experience to guide students towards academic success.
My sessions run for an hour each and are online.
I am looking to start tutoring again in 2024 so please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Cheers,
James
