About

Hello! My name is James. In 2022, I graduated from the International Baccalaureate (IB) with a score of 44/45 as Dux of IB Year 12. Having just completed the IB, I am very aware of the rigours and challenges posed by these subjects and I am well placed to help students through the process. I feel the IB has given me a broad and deep understanding of the content and understanding that college requires. Throughout the IB, I made extensive notes, with extra research, past papers, practice tests and other resources, which I found invaluable to my IB study. I make these resources available to students I tutor. While I have received academic distinctions, including Dux of IB Year 12, Dux of Year 10, the Australian Defence Force’s Future Innovator’s award in 2020 and Dux of Philosophy, I also recognise the importance of balance in education. I received 2 College Awards in year 11 and 12, representing all roundedness in my approach to study and sport. I hope through tutorials we can reduce the stress on students.

I believe James was a great tutor for our daughter. From my experience with James, he knows the content inside and out and be is always willing to explain the content in different ways to make sure it is understood and mastered. James is structured in the way he teaches, promotes asking questions, and effectively uses visual aids to support his explanations. James was also very adept at answering questions in the IB style, which was invaluable. I personally saw how excited James was to help my daughter learn and I highly recommend him as a tutor.

James has been an exceptional tutor. He started tutoring me halfway through my first year of the IB program and from getting 4s and even 3s, I started receiving higher grades including, 6s and 7s. He taught me new strategies to not only deal with stress during exams, but also study techniques to ensure I can spend the less time possible on my studies and still efficiently get the most out of it - this ensures I don't get burnout considering this is a 2 year program. He tutored me Maths IA and Chemistry HL which are really challenging IB subjects and I can happily say I am excelling in both due to Jame's help. I can finally feel confident to study medicine now in the future. Thanks a lot!
