About

|| UNSW Doctor of Medicine || 1st Rank 95/100 Chemistry || 96/100 Physics || 99/100 Music 2 and Music Extension || Hello, I’m Oliver! I completed my QCE in 2020. I am currently in my 2nd year of studying for a Bachelor of Medical Studies/Doctor of Medicine at UNSW Kensington and received offers to study medicine all over Australia (UNSW, JCU and Adelaide). I have 1 year of tutoring experience, specialising in Y11 and 12 Chemistry and Physics. I am dedicated to providing comprehensive support in your academic journey. Whether it involves tackling challenging subjects, guiding you through assignment planning and fine tuning, or creating personalised study plans and timetables, my goal is to assist you in every way possible. Having personally experienced the pressures and demands of being a student aiming to achieve high marks, I deeply value the opportunity to draw from my own experiences to empower you to succeed and reach your aspirations. This way, together we can overcome academic challenges and work towards achieving your academic goals with confidence and determination! What I teach: · Chemistry (Y11/12) · Physics (Y11/12) · Music and music extension (Y7-12) · Junior Science (Y7-10) · Junior Maths (Y7-10) · JCU and UNSW Medical school interview preparation My results: Chemistry 95/100 overall (Ranking 1st internally - 94/100 on external exam) Physics 90/100 overall (96/100 on external exam) Music 99/100 overall (Ranking 1st internally) Music Extension 99/100 overall (Ranking 1st internally) Other achievements: 1st Rank Chemistry Y12 1st Rank Music Y12 1st Rank Music Extension Y12 Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award AMEB aMusA Euphonium 2023 Open Euphonium Solo Champion - Australian National Band Championships Under 18’s Surf Lifesaver of the Year - Surf Lifesaving QLD, North Queensland Branch My teaching style: My teaching approach aligns closely with the provided syllabus for each subject. I believe in breaking down large and intricate modules into smaller, easily digestible parts aligned within the syllabus. This method enables students to achieve a deep understanding of vital concepts and enhances their ability to memorise the topics effectively. Moreover, I reinforce this foundational knowledge by incorporating it into broader exam-style questions, allowing students to consolidate their learning and excel in their examinations. With the return to face-to-face interactions, I am delighted to accommodate my students' requirements by offering both online tutoring sessions via Zoom and in-person at the UNSW library in Randwick. I also consider alternative arrangements for tutoring in other locations, subject to individual cases. I am happy to answer any questions students may have during the week between sessions. Pricing (reach out to finalise): $60/hour for year 7-10 $70/hour for year 11 & 12 Trial lesson: I am happy to offer a conditional trial lesson. If you decide not to continue with my tutoring services, the lesson will be offered free of charge!

Reviews

I took lessons from Oliver for music 1 (hsc) and I definitely recommend him to others. Each lesson was engaging and perfectly organised; balancing all components such as assigning and reviewing homework, learning new theory, resolving queries and questions and doing practice papers- all whilst making the lessons enjoyable due to his friendly personality. Due to his assistance I managed to gain confidence in the areas I had struggled with previously, and as a result performed much better. Highly recommended!

As someone who has known Oliver for several years, I can attest to his exceptional ability to simplify complex subjects, combined with outstanding patience, empathy, and dedication. He creates an inclusive learning environment that fosters student success and has an unmatched work ethic. As medical students, Oliver brings a unique perspective to teaching having been through the rigours of highschool. His punctuality and organisational skills make him a dependable tutor, and any student would be very fortunate to be under his guidance.
