Hello, my name is James. I am 26 years old, and a fluent French speaker (at the C1 level).
I am studying philosophy and biology at university and can tutor these subjects as well as French.
I have recently returned from 6 months of studies in France on a university exchange. In total, I have now lived in France for about 18 months. Aside from studying, I spent my other time working and living with local French people. This means that I am very familiar with idiomatic French (speaking like the locals do).
I can work with learners at any level and will plan lessons according to your needs.
I can travel anywhere in (inner) North Canberra, so we will need to meet somewhere in this area if you live elsewhere.
Discount prices are available for couples or groups.
I can help with:
-- Improving your pronunciation.
I have worked hard to master the French accent and the subtle intricacies of its pronunciation. I can offer techniques and mnemonic devices to help you sound significantly more natural in your speaking: as you improve in this, speaking French becomes much more satisfying!
-- Understanding grammar.
French grammar is rather complex, but there are techniques to help you learn it properly. I can help you feel comfortable with your conjugations, sentence constructions, word genderings, and other tricky rules of grammar.
-- Expanding your vocabulary.
At first, it is frustrating to speak another language, because you feel limited in what you can say. I have a rather broad vocabulary because I have actually studied, lived, and worked in France, which has allowed me to develop a natural, everyday way of speaking French.
Please contact me if you have any further questions. I look forward to meeting you!
Thanks,
James
