About

My name is Elizabeth, a HSC all rounder (achieving the highest band for all subjects undertaken in the HSC) and I currently study Law and Psychological Science at the University of New South Wales. I received the Minister's Award Commendation for Academic Excellence from Parliament for my performance in my HSC year. I maintained internal ranks in the top three throughout my school year, ranking first for English Extension 2, Modern History and Music. I ranked second for English Advanced and English Extension 1, and ranked third for Legal Studies. I offer flexible tutoring and mentorship; and my teaching philosophy is that any style or method of teaching I do, should cater to the student's preferences and abilities first. I have an in depth understanding of how a school's syllabus works and have familiarised myself well with the HSC rubrics of subjects. I have grown to understand how the marking criteria functions and how to maximise marks with that knowledge, ultimately achieving optimal grades. I am also a firm believer that a student's mental health is very important, and providing tutoring in a way that allows for them to gain confidence and feel comfortable, is in turn, significant. I aim for my tutees to adopt the discipline needed to be well-prepared for exams or internal assessments, so they feel confident enough to do well without needing to panic, feel anxious or overly stressed. I currently work in marketing for a visa and migration firm and I tutor students from an array of schools and backgrounds, helping me enrich my experience as a tutor. My subjects and marks: - English Advanced: 98/100 Texts: The Crucible, King Richard III & Looking For Richard, Emma - English Extension 1: 47/50 Texts: Frankenstein, Seamus Heaney's 'Opened Ground,' Waiting for Godot - English Extension 2: 46/50 - Modern History: 94/100 Modules: Russia and the USSR, Conflict in Europe, the Cultural Revolution to Tiananmen Square - Legal Studies: 91/100 Modules: World Order, Family Law - Music 1: 94/100 Style of assessment: ALL FOUR musical performances. ADDITIONAL DESCRIPTION OF RATES: --------------------------------------- One on one tutoring: $95 (in person) and $75 (online) Group tutoring rates: 2 students: $75 per student 3 students: $65 per student Requests for groups of students (4-5 people) will require appropriate rates organised upon further discussion.
