ATAR 99.10 (equivalent) — Specialist HSC & IB Maths Tutor | Extension 1 & 2 | Computer Science Hi, I'm Ariel. I'm completing a Bachelor of Advanced Computing (Honours) at the University of Sydney, majoring in Computer Science, where I also do research in machine learning. I graduated from Queensland Academy for Science, Mathematics and Technology (Queensland's top-performing school) in 2022 with an IB diploma, achieving a 99.10 ATAR-equivalent and a perfect 7/7 across all papers in IB Mathematics AA HL. I've tutored since 2020 and worked with more than 50 students, many staying on for well over a year. Over the last three years I've focused heavily on Year 11–12 HSC Maths Extension 1 and Extension 2 in Sydney, so it's the material I know best and teach most. I tutor alongside practising high school maths teachers, which keeps me aligned with the current syllabus and how students are actually assessed. I'm also currently working in the tech industry, so for computer science students I bring real-world programming experience alongside exam technique. Years of teaching HSC Extension maths have also given me a strong sense of the types of questions likely to come up, so I help students prepare strategically rather than just broadly. Having studied mathematics at university level, I understand the concepts well beyond the school syllabus, so I can explain the reasoning underneath the methods, not just how to apply them. Most importantly, I watch closely how each student works and quickly spot the recurring patterns behind their mistakes — fixing those underlying habits is usually what turns results around.
