I graduated from Meriden in 2022 with an ATAR of 99.95, placing 1st in NSW in the Music 2 and Music Extension courses. I have three years of experience teaching students from years 7-12, and offer tutoring for English Advanced and Music 2, as well as English/music lessons for junior years. My students have: internally ranked 1st overall for English Advanced at Meriden (2025 prize recipient), consistently received marks of 95+ in the HSC including state rank equivalent marks, achieved top 5 overall rankings for English/music at competitive selective and private schools, and received 100% in assessment tasks. We will pay attention to various factors such as your concept, characterisation as well as the aesthetic quality of your writing, making sure you craft a response that is authentic and compelling. - Essays and short answers: I will not only provide meticulous and methodical feedback, but will provide real-time edits during the lesson showing you exactly how to improve the construction of your sentences and paragraphs. We will carefully dissect each line to perfect your response, supported by full-mark and state-rank exemplars to deepen your understanding of what distinguishes an outstanding response. - Exam preparation: I will help you develop the mental agility needed to tackle even the most demanding questions. We will consistently practice answering and adapting essays to different questions to ensure you are able to confidently respond with clarity and precision on exam day. - Generating ideas: We will go through key content and effective quotes during the lesson, helping you develop thought-provoking ideas to make sure your writing is original and insightful. - General tips: performing well in the HSC does not solely involve academic aptitude. More importantly, it involves a commitment to reflecting on your learning to continuously improve.
