About

HSC All-Rounder (over 90 in all subjects) // ATAR of 98.50 Hi! My name is Zahra, and I'm currently studying a Bachelor of Politics, Philosophy and Economics with a Bachelor of International Security Studies at the Australian National University. I am from Sydney, but am living on campus so my tutoring services will be offered online. I graduated from PLC Sydney in 2022, ranking second in my cohort, and came first my grade for English Advanced, Modern History, Italian Continuers, and History Extension. My year 12 results were: - English Advanced: 92 - English Extension 1: 48 - Maths Advanced: 94 - Modern History: 96 - History Extension: 47 - Italian Continuers: 92 I am very passionate about helping students to achieve their absolute best in their subjects - not only just lifting their marks, but actually helping them to enjoy what they are studying (although I think that the two usually go hand in hand!). I totally understand the stresses and pressures of high school - how overwhelming it can be, and how particularly intense year 12 is. My goal is to take away as much of the fear and struggle of high school as possible, so that students can really enjoy their learning and feel good about where they are. My teaching style is very much dependent on the student. If you would like a lot of structure and reassurance then that is something I can definitely do - or if you would prefer a more hands-off approach, of just answering questions and marking essays, then I would love to help too. My goal is to support each student in the way that best works for them - and I am willing to try a whole range of different things to help you figure out what that is. My degree does not have many contact hours, so I have a fair bit of availability, and can work around busy schedules! My rates are: - $50-60 an hour for one-on-one tutoring (depending on the year level) - $25 for essay marking
