About

Free Introductory Session! My experience: - Melbourne University Honours (Literature & Social Sciences) - Bachelor of Arts (Distinction) in Literature & Social Sciences - Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (current) - Advanced Diploma of Professional Screenwriting - 10 years working experience in Communications & Education - Completed VCE with grades over 40 in English and Drama - Aspiring teacher with the skills and knowledge to help you grow I don't just have the qualifications, I have the passion too! I love everything to do with reading, writing and storytelling. Let's work together to conquer the curriculum and build some lifelong skills! In our first session, I will work with you to set goals and discuss your learning style and interests - as well as what particular difficulties you may be facing. It’s important that we have a common goal and build a friendly, relaxed relationship before we get started. Learning can and should be fun! By acting as a ‘study buddy’, I will help you prepare for your assessments - but also ease the anxiety that comes with study deadlines and course workloads. Ultimately, I want you to walk away with more than just good grades. I want to foster a love for writing, reading, and creative thinking. High school students: I focus on essay writing skills and text analysis. We will discuss the texts you’re studying as part of your curriculum, then work together to read, analyse, and interpret the text in an essay. I can give feedback and guidance on practice exams and essays. I can also provide you with further study tools and techniques that have worked well for me throughout high school and university. Undergrad students: You already have the foundational skills from high school, but there is a big learning curve when you enter university classes. I know exactly how you feel and I’m here to help. We will discuss the texts you’re studying as part of your current units, then work together to read, analyse, and interpret the text in an essay. I can provide helpful contextual notes and research tools. I can also provide you with further study tools and techniques that have worked well for me throughout my undergrad and postgrad studies. No recruiters please.

Reviews

Evie tutored two of my children a few years ago. She was friendly and patient and the kids loved her. They used to hate reading and homework but Evie encouraged them to find the fun in reading. They would look forward to sessions with her and they were confident by exam time. Worth every cent! Thanks again Evie :]

Character references

Evie is a very friendly person and a good communicator. She is very articulate and makes a good tutor as she is astute and encouraging in intellectual pursuits. Whilst she is very organized and loves a timetable or a list, she is also very creative and enjoys discussing imaginative and unconventional ideas.
