About

1st year Medical Student | IB 44 (ATAR 99.75) | EXPERIENCED IB TUTOR | 4 years+ teaching | Hi there! My name is Arya T and I graduated in 2020 within the top 10 graduates from the highly competitive Queensland Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Technology (QASMT) and from the Bachelor of Medical Science in 2022 with Distinction (GPA of 7.0/7.0). Currently, I am studying Medicine at Griffith University through the provisional pathway (ATAR only; no UCAT needed). Why me? My philosophy towards learning is to instil understanding rather than memorisation when studying. Those mid-exam mind blanks - they'll be a thing of the past now! With this mindset, I have been able to perform strongly in all academic areas. The following are subjects that I offer for tutoring (all have been high 7s): - Chemistry (IB SL/HL, ATAR) - Biology (IB SL/HL, ATAR) - Business (IB SL/HL, ATAR) - French (IB Ab initio SL) - TOK/EE (IB only) - Internal Assignments (IB + ATAR) With this philosophy, my strong academic and scientific background, and my extensive tutoring experience, I can assure that the skills and teaching style I use will ensure improvement and long-term learning in you. My offer to you: We have all had teachers, tutors, you name it who do nothing but read off a PowerPoint presentation that frankly we could have done ourselves. Where is the teaching you ask with disappointment and frustration? Trust me, it happens everywhere. I have experienced the negative impacts an unsupportive and unskilled teacher can have on our grades. With that in mind, I will ensure that you LEARN from my lessons and take away a feeling of satisfaction rather than disappointment. Sounds good? It only gets better :) PowerPoint slides aren't the most fun way to learn and so I always draw out and create interactive lessons to ensure engagement and learning. I understand that each student learns differently from one another as we all are individual learners of course. As such, I always make sure to recognise the various learning methods (drawing, mind maps, mnemonics, songs etc) that work the best for you. In this way, I can optimise our tutoring times and teach what's most important to you. I aim to build confidence, independence, and sustainable-learning in my students so that they are prepared for the world of university, industry jobs, and life where self-study and independent learning is the ruling theme. I also emphasise the importance of healthy study-habits to each of my students such as timely sleeping, consistent rather than cram studying, and maintaining a hobby (yes don't give up your violin; ling ling would be disappointed). All of the above skills also apply to any one-off extensive assessment feedback sessions you want as I want you to understand the tricks to getting that 90%+. Contact: Please feel free to contact me via messages and we can get started right away!

Reviews

Arya is a really good tutor for chemistry and business! She started tutoring me from the start of year 11, and now im in my final year of highschool. She really knows what she's talking about, and explains confusing concepts in a really clear and concise manner. She also caters her lesson towards working with areas I need help with, helping me further improve my strengths, as well as introducing me to new ideas I have not already learnt at school. With my business report essays, she is really good at giving me feedback and telling me what I should do to improve my essay and get marks in the higher range. I highly recommend Arya as she is a very experienced and knowledgeable tutor :)

Arya has helped me develop in nearly all of my subjects since I started DP1. Her tutoring style is great because she really helps me understand the material and helps me to engage with it - especially in biology and chemistry. She facilitates an easy and safe environment to ask questions to understand the content as she teaches and then focuses on application of the content. For application she’s amazing at helping with textbook questions and past paper questions whether it’s in the tutoring session or just sending her a message for help! Overall Arya has definitely helped me develop a better understanding of topics I found previously difficult in class for bio and HL chem. She also gives awesome, criteria-specific and detailed feedback on all IAs, EE, TOK essays and exhibitions and English. In these regards, she has definitely boosted my marked in my assignments, study techniques and overall grades! I could not recommend a better tutor :)
