Ella E.

Hi! My name is Ella. I am a fourth-year university student who graduated from Fort Street High School, one of Sydney's top selective schools, with an All-round Achievers HSC Award (https://educationstandards.nsw.edu.au/wps/portal/nesa/about/events/merit-lists/all-round-achievers/2021) and an ATAR of 98.7. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Science (Dalyell Scholars ATAR-based stream) at the University of Sydney, majoring in Biology and English. I also recently studied these disciplines at Trinity College Dublin as part of an exchange program. As a result, I am confident in my knowledge of both subjects across all years of high school, and have tutored students doing a variety of different texts over the last two years. I also tutor mathematics, as I was in the accelerated class at my high school and continue to study math subjects as part of my science degree. I have accumulated a wide range of teaching methods to maximise exam results and ultimately unlock a deeper understanding of what each subject is asking the student to do. Fostering enjoyment is a key aspect of my teaching style, especially with English (Standard to Extension 2) as I feel it is a subject all too often taught drearily when in reality the texts provided have so much to say once you delve a little deeper. I offer private tutoring both online and in person (depending on proximity). If you are not in need of an in-person tutor I am also happy to mark and comment on any practice essays (including multiple drafts), sets of section 1 responses or practice exams for a sum of $25 per piece.
