About

Hi there! My name is Indigo and I have been providing private tutoring for 2 years. I tutor Literature, Ancient History (Greece and Rome), and Revolutions (France and America). For Literature, I will learn your (or your child's) texts, so I can tutor any. I have done this successfully in the past for all my students, and therefore have worked on The Ladies' Paradise, Picnic at Hanging Rock, Ariel by Sylvia Plath, Emily Dickinson's poetry, Othello, The Passion, Mrs Dalloway, Great Expectations, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Foreign Soil, White Teeth, Wide Sargasso Sea, Jane Eyre, Hedda Gabbler, Adrienne Rich poetry, A Taste of Honey, and Uncle Vanya. My tutoring sessions include (but are not limited to...) : - Providing detailed PowerPoints, mind maps and other visual displays that cover necessary content (and specific additional content that will make you stand out!) for your subject. - Giving detailed feedback on your work, which includes annotations, explaining where you can improve, showing you how to do this through restructuring and rewriting, and suggesting key content areas that are missing from your response that you can include for extra marks. - Helping students answer SAC and exam questions/prompts. The student or I will provide an exam/sac question or a passage to closely analyse and we will begin answering it together. For example, for Literature we might choose a poem to analyse together and I will give them my unique and detailed analysis, that other classmates may not have. We can then plan an essay around that poem. - Creating practice essay prompts and exams in the lead up to SACs and the exam period. - Helping my students with study skills and time management by creating study planners (when requested).
