** 𝟗𝟗.𝟓𝟎 ATAR | 𝟏𝟎𝟎/𝟏𝟎𝟎 in 4U | Maths Y7-12 | 𝐔𝐍𝐒𝐖 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐞 ** Hey there!👋 I'm Owen. If you asked me in Year 10 what ATAR I was aiming for, I probably would've responded with "High Distinction". I was quite an inexperienced student (putting it nicely 🙂) Between then and the final HSC exams, I realised the way that I was learning was neither productive nor beneficial 😐. I only changed a little bit, yet I soon saw my marks improving 📈. Eventually, I was coming 1st in Physics and Maths exams at Sydney Grammar School! Throughout this time, I still played basketball with friends, coded in my spare time, went swimming, and spent a tiny bit of time on TikTok 🤭. Today, I'm a medical student at UNSW. ---------- My teaching style is focused on the fundamentals, reinforcing an unwavering understanding that can allow you to tackle any question, with or without me. Backed up by notes and practice questions from the top schools in NSW, you can be assured exams can be approached with a sense of familiarity. I'm currently available for one more student. All my lessons take place online (via zoom). After a tried and tested approach, I've found my investment in a writing tablet and microphone makes for a much better learning environment than making students read around my hand on a page. I am closely familiar with the current syllabus and I have a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC). Owen has been teaching my son throughout year 9. Although he is the first private tutor my son has had and I am not really able to compare him to anyone else, I have without a doubt seen positive changes in both my son's attitude to learning and his marks. I was therefore more than happy to give Owen this review. I do try to stay out of the way during tutoring sessions, but my son honestly comes out of each lesson with a keenness for whatever topic they were studying. Outside of lessons, Owen is professional and respectful. My son's education is certainly in good hands with Owen.
