Hey, I'm Violet! I have over four years experience as a tutor. I have tutored privately, for my high school and I also teach first year maths at university. I primarily tutor VCE Maths Methods but I also have experience tutoring VCE General Maths, VCE Specialist Maths, VCE Physics and Year 10 Maths. I tutor in a way that allows the student to take initiative and focus on the areas they believe they need to work on. I like to emphasise that I am not a teacher but a tutor, I am just one of the many resources students have at their disposal and it is up to them to get the most out of our sessions. I encourage students to come to me with any exercise questions they get wrong, content they don't understand, practice exams/tests they would like to look through or any assessments from class where they don't understand where they made a mistake. Furthermore, succeeding in maths and physics is not just about being able to do everything by hand and from memory, it's also about knowing how to best use your calculator and formula sheet to your advantage so I make sure to include it in our sessions. I graduated in 2021 with an ATAR of 98.70 and four 40+ raw study scores, including 45 in Maths Methods, 41 in Physics and 39 in Specialist Maths. I was the dux of my school and received the academic achievement award in all my VCE subjects. I have now almost graduated my Bachelor of Science (Physics Major) and concurrent Diploma in Mathematical Sciences (Applied Maths Specialisation) at Melbourne University. I'm currently looking for students who would like some short term tutoring. I'm coming to the end of my degree and I'm going overseas in September so if you'd like some tutoring (regular, intensive or intermittent) between now and the start of September, let me know!
