About

Sydney Grammar School, Class of 2022 | USYD Radiography | Distinguished Achiever | ————————— Hey everyone, My name is Jashan Dugal and I graduated from Sydney Grammar School in 2022, I am currently going to study Radiography at USYD. I am offering tutoring for all year groups, but mainly for senior HSC years in the following subjects: Subjects tutored (Y7 - Y12): - English - Maths - Chemistry - Physics - Economics - History - Other Various subjects for younger years Other Types - UCAT exam prep - High School selection tests (Dependant on the type of exam) Sydney Grammar School (Year 7 - Year 12) The purpose of a teacher is to introduce the new basic and advanced content. The point of a tutor is to help consolidate the basics and refine the advanced – that’s where I can help. To keep it relatively short, I’m looking to help students do well and maximise their marks, especially for the HSC. Throughout my time in high school, I learnt many tricks that helped significantly, and I’m more than happy to share them. I graduated in 2022 with great marks, but that alone is not what makes a great tutor. Throughout my final year in high school, I had an excessive amount of external disruption and only had 2 out of 5 of my assessment periods unaffected – I know how to help my students do continually well despite the circumstances at hand. I am also very patient, and I really care about my students not just learning how to get the marks they desire but to get them to understand the concepts beyond their expectations. Lastly - just like myself I want my students to enjoy their subjects that they are learning – I know it helped me a lot. Having a lot of experience in leadership experience with school roles such as cadets, learning lots of educational theory and different teaching types help me adapt to various learning styles. I have also done various amounts of tutoring in the past so I have had plenty of practice in the classroom and one on one. Lastly, but still importantly, I know how stressful the experience of senior schooling can be with increasing workloads and extra circular commitments. From personal experience I found that the best way to achieve great results wasn’t to spend hours grinding away on textbooks but instead, to gain a very deep understanding of the content in the respective subject – using more effective study methods to maximise marks.
