Teaching ethos:
I'm a strong believer in developing your personal view of texts and being able to enjoy literature for what it's worth. Thus, my lessons are discussion based, designed to extend your ideas and strengthen your textual understanding. I hate the idea of 'spoon-feeding', or writing out essays for students to memorise; with every student, I aim to help them hone their own set of skills and refine their work to achieve their goals.

Joanna is a fantastic tutor who is extremely supportive and caring towards her students. During my lessons with Joanna, I never felt bored or disinterested as she is extremely passionate and knowledgeable. I truly appreciated how she would always check in at different times to make sure I fully understood the concept and would patiently answer any questions I had. My Year 12 marks saw a great improvement after seeking help from Joanna and I wish I had met her earlier. I highly recommend Joanna as a tutor who can take your marks and attitude towards learning to the next level!

I had quite an awful English teacher during year 12 and Joanna helped improve my final mark immensely. I started the year off with English being my least favourite as well as worst performing subject, and ended the year having it be my best overall subject, achieving a mark of 93. If I didn’t have Joanna’s help I am honestly not sure I would have done this well. She will help you however she can and provide super helpful resources. I couldn’t recommend her enough!!!

Joanna was super nice and stepped in last minute to help me immensely in English Advanced and Extension 1. She was available when I most needed it and helped jog ideas for creatives and significantly improved my Mod C mark. I recommend Joanna to anyone who is struggling with creativity in English
