I'm Gabriel and I completed the HSC in 2022. I graduated with a 97.55 ATAR (Top 2% in NSW) as Dux of my College and achieved 5th in NSW for History Extension. I achieved 1st internally for all of my subjects, and was a NSW Top Achiever and Distinguished Achiever on the NESA Honour Roll. I was also College Captain, Spirituality Captain and Creative Director of my school's student publication in Year 12. I am currently studying a dual Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Advanced Studies as a Dalyell Scholar and History Undergraduate Scholar at The University of Sydney. My majors are in History and International Relations, with a High Distinction average. My passion lies in the humanities and social sciences, which I pursued during my senior schooling, and am now undertaking at university. Over the past 6+ years I have gained experience as a peer mentor, student leader, community volunteer and now private tutor, which have helped me to develop important skills which I bring to my lessons. Furthermore, I work diligently to ensure that every lesson is worthwhile, enjoyable and insightful for each student. Whether you want to improve, maintain or accelerate your performance in these subjects, I meet students where they're at and work with them to determine realistic, specific and time-based goals that can allow them to achieve their personal best. I believe that the best way to learn is by immersion and investment, and this is why I value real engagement, particularly when it comes to the humanities. The humanities require fundamental skills in critical analysis, lateral and creative thinking, and concise communication. Whilst it is imperative for me to prepare students by providing guided tuition, I also encourage authentic engagement with course content, which can only be achieved by fostering a commitment to the material. I believe this teaching style allows me to stand out from the rest – because learning isn't just about achieving your goals, but it's also about growing your mind so that you can tackle the next challenge as it comes. I provide various resources and detailed study materials to students, but also encourage them to branch out and think in new and challenging ways to fully immerse themselves in their courses. This is what allowed me to achieve high marks throughout my secondary schooling, and score Band 6s and Band E4s in my HSC. Please reach out if you have any questions :) Best of luck with your studies and I hope to hear from you!

Reviews

Gabriel is a very knowledgeable and helpful tutor and he has made learning easier by breaking down concepts and explaining ideas clearly. He helped me to improve my internal rank for English Advanced and I became more confident in my essay and creative writing skills. I also had lots of resources to work with and each lesson was super detailed and specific to the syllabus. I highly recommend Gabriel’s tutoring method! :)

Gabriel has been an absolutely fantastic tutor this year, whose guidance has allowed me to achieve personal highs and significant improvement. His vast skillset is highly recognisable through the structured, well-taught lessons and the broad scope of materials he provides. The learning community during tutoring sessions was incredibly welcoming as I was able to ask any questions that I wished. I am also very grateful that Gabriel provided me with constant feedback on written work, which consistently allowed me to better my own skillset and confidence in studying History Extension!

Gabriel is an outstanding English tutor. He is highly responsive and customizes the lessons to meet the specific needs of my boys. My sons look forward to their lessons with him. His teaching approach is both thorough and enjoyable, and he has a vibrant personality, according to my sons. It didn't take long to notice the positive impact of his efforts on the boys' report cards. He is truly a gem!
