Hi I'm Helen and I graduated in 2022 with an ATAR of 99.15. I look forwards to not only helping you improve, but also in sharing my passion with you so that you can enjoy the subject and feel confident! Some details about me: - received an ATAR of 99.15 in 2022 - currently studying a Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne - obtained a score of 47 in English - received the Prize for Excellence in English which is the equivalent of ranking first in my cohort in a competitive girls school - received full marks in all English SACs across the entire year with the only exception of 2 in which I was only 1 mark away from full - 100% scholarship student - I have a Working With Children's Check my teaching style: - flexible! i'm happy to let students guide the lesson with questions or what they want to work on, or take the lead myself - tailored pace of teaching and lesson plans for my students to support them but also to appropriately push and encourage them! - open, supportive and communicative. if my students have any work to submit, questions or complications outside of class, they are more than welcome to message/email me for help - having experienced the stress of high school myself, I know that everyone will be very stressed with all the work they have to do for other subjects as well as perhaps encounter periods of burn out or illness so I will do my best to not overwhelm my students with excessive work -- however, I am a firm believer of consistent hard work and practice, and so will leave my students with a manageable amount of work each class - for English tutoring I have my own set of notes and also many other resources such as vocabulary lists, sample essays and reading passages.
