2022 Baulkham Hills Graduate I BHHS rank 4 English Ext 2 and rank 6 English Ext 1 My experience with the HSC syllabus has allowed me to achieve top marks by realising that only reading texts and making quote tables won’t help with success in English. This is similar for Legal Studies where only learning the content will not help you achieve Band 6 results but rather the essay writing skills and sophistication. According to my experience with the HSC exams, I have designed my lessons and teaching strategies to best maximize content knowledge, writing skills, and exam performance in the most efficient manner. I will work with you on specific texts, poetry, plays, and film according to the Modules and construct meaning before helping you frame an essay to ace exams. There will also be a focus on cultivating skills such as being able to respond consistently to different sets of questions and managing time during an exam as timing is usually limited. For creative modules, constant idea-building and timed practice will allow for the best exam strategy for exams. My teaching is focused on building a fundamental understanding of the content and then solidifying it through crafting sophisticated responses under timed conditions to best prepare for exam environments.
