๐จโ๐ฌ Credentials Beyond HSC Marks
Expertise:
o 3 years of teaching experience
o Deep association with Science Ready, a leading education provider for HSC Physics and Chemistry.
o Written multiple practice chemistry and physics exam papers and know the type of questions examiners prefer.
o Given personalised feedback to 20+ students for weekly homework, allowing them to develop the way they construct their answers and thus score highly.
o Specialised help with Depth Studies: Currently a research assistant at Queensland Brain Institute - a leading neuroscience research centre. I have experience in helping write scientific publications that go on to be published and thus, I am incredibly familiar with the 'Working Scientifically' part of the chemistry and physics syllabi.
Academics:
o 99.24% raw mark in CHEM1100, 99.59% in CHEM1200 (two university chemistry courses)
o National recognition for chemistry as a Chemistry Olympiad Summer School alumni receiving a bronze medal (top 18 in Australia)
o International recognition for chemistry: Near-perfect mark in ICQ (29/30)
o Internal prizes: Alan C Corner Prize for Physics; Lennie Bassier Award for Scientific Initiative
๐ค My Extensive History of Mentoring
I -
o was a high school Peer Mentor (2020)
o was on the mentoring subcommittee of the University of Queensland's Premedical Society (UQPMS) (2023)
o was recently elected the Vice President of Mentoring of UQPMS (2024)
My experience adds an extra layer of mentoring excellence to my teaching approach, ensuring you don't just learn the subject but also gain insights on how to study effectively and approach challenges.
๐ฉโ๐ซ Tutoring Experience & Approach:
o 1-hour, weekly lessons going through polished PowerPoints teaching a particular topic in the syllabus
o Access to weekly, professionally made homework worksheets that are structured like mini-exams. These are complete with sample solutions, and my students are also encouraged to send their answers for feedback.
o Happy to answer questions outside of lessons and go over time to ensure comprehensive understanding, at not additional cost.
o Advice not limited to just chemistry and physics. I've helped my chemistry and physics students outside of class with English essay writing, UCAT and medical interviews despite not offering formal lessons on these.
๐ Other Noteworthy Achievements:
๐ฉบ UCAT: 3210 in 2022 (98th percentile), 3220 in 2023 (98th percentile)
๐ฉบ Offers to multiple medical schools (including UNSW and UQ)
