{Now taking enrolments for 2024} Hi! I'm Ben, a final-year medical student and a passionate educator located in Newcastle. For the past four years, I have assisted 30+ students aged 10-18 in achieving their best results in subjects ranging from STEM to the humanities and medical entrance examinations. For me, building strong teaching relationships with my students and watching them engage and improve in their studies is incredibly rewarding, whilst I strive to tailor my content delivery and teaching to suit individual learning styles and habits. I graduated from Saint Ignatius College, Riverview in 2018 with the following HSC results: ATAR: 99.60 English Advanced: 95/100 English Extension 1: 96/100 Business Studies: 97/100 Economics: 95/100 Studies of Religion 1: 96/100 (8th in NSW) Mathematics Advanced: 93/100 In terms of my tuition style, the initial premise revolves around gauging a student's understanding of the course content they are studying, how they learn best, and then teaching to fill gaps in their knowledge in a manner that works best for their learning style. Afterwards, as understanding improves, I tend to shift towards how to deliver that information in an examination setting, so students can best display their learning to markers. Past papers, practical discussions and questions regarding subject content, assignment proofreading and collaborative assistance with this are utilised here. I live quite centrally in Newcastle and can tutor from a student's home in most cases. Additionally, there are several local and university libraries that I also work from.
