About

Hi, my name is Nabil. I am a current university student studying Bachelor's of Civil Engineering at UTS and I TEACH MATHS! ⭐My love for Maths⭐ I am the type of person that likes to stay busy and give my 100%. Mathematics is my favourite subject and I've always enjoyed the suspense and challenge involved in solving maths problems. Hence I choose to only teach maths so I can apply my full focus onto one subject as I aspire to become a well recognised maths specialist. ⭐Teaching style⭐ I put a lot of effort into teaching and am passionate about helping my students achieve high marks so they can maintain a high rank in maths throughout their high school journey. I study the course myself before teaching it and spend some time preplanning all of my lectures so that I know what I'm talking about when teaching. My lectures consist of an intro to the topic that I'm teaching and then I solve example questions to further clarify my point. As I teach I make sure that my students understand what's happening rather than just writing on the board and making them copy paste that on their books. I try to explain the full concept behind any of the maths problems or formulae and often use real world examples to further clarify a point. I go step by step and get my students to write every single step and detail when solving a maths problem. It is time consuming at first but the purpose is to enable students to understand a concept in detail so that they can apply their understanding to even solve a type of maths problem that they haven’t seen before. However, since this lengthens the time you take to solve a question, therefore later on when I know that my students are skilled enough, I ask them to eliminate some unnecessary steps in order to save time in timed exam situations. In my eyes maths is a very interesting and enjoyable subject and through my teaching I prepare my students so that they start liking maths even if they hate it at first. I study my student’s learning style and devise a strategy to teach my students in a way that best fits their way of learning. This helps me make learning easy for them as I become aware of how they learn. Moreover, I make sure my students are keeping up with me with random questioning while maintaining an environment that encourages participation so that students don’t shy away from asking questions. I make sure that I've explained enough for my students to be able to solve a problem by themselves without any help. I give out homework every week to test and assess what my students got out of my teaching and provide further help to the students that need it. I encourage my students to squeeze every bit of knowledge out of me and provide after hours support by providing them with my email and phone number so they can easily reach out to me when help is required. I make sure that my students are fully prepared for their exams and offer free extra classes when required. Maintaining discipline in a classroom is essential and I make sure that I develop mutual respect with my students. Moreover maths is an exciting and interesting subject and therefore I also make sure that students enjoy their learning journey with some(maths) jokes. I take pride in helping my students upgrade their mathematics skills. ⭐Tutoring i offer⭐ I have a classroom setup at my house which consists of a whiteboard that I teach on, tables and chairs for the students, as well as a small kitchen on the side for when students need a break. I offer one on one tutoring sessions, group classes and online classes. One on one sessions are most welcomed. My preferred way of teaching is group classes since it encourages competition among students and results in all students achieving good results as they attempt to do better than their fellow students. I have a plan setup for students that comprises a 2 hour class each week over a period of 10 weeks. I cover the content that is taught at school and make sure that my students stay ahead of school teaching. With group classes I keep my groups to no more than 4 to ensure that all students have my full attention and can actively ask questions if they feel the need to, without hesitation. ⭐Pricing ⭐ One on one: From $29/hr Group Classes: Contact for special discounts. Contact me for further details. ⭐Academics⭐ I achieved an atar of 84.65 in HSC and got a high band 5 in Advanced maths.
