99.90 ATAR | 3470 UCAT (99%ile) | UNSW Medicine | Online Tutoring Hi, I'm Esther! I am a second year Medicine student at UNSW, who graduated from Pymble Ladies' College in 2021 with an ATAR of 99.90. I offer UCAT and medical interview tutoring. Entry into medicine can be confusing and complicated for even the most academically talented students. With each university having different admissions requirements, different weightings between ATAR, UCAT and interview and even wildly different interview styles, it can be hard to know what to do. As someone who agonised over her own admissions process, I've learnt a lot of tips and tricks that can help you maximise your chances at medicine. || UCAT || Getting great marks in school but struggling with the UCAT? As the UCAT is an aptitude test, repeatedly training without a strategy can cause students to stagnate and feel unmotivated. I believe that the key to success in the UCAT is personalising strategies to match the student's strengths and weaknesses. As a tutor, I work with students to utilise Medentry/Medify resources to their full potential, find strategies to maximise marks and maintain motivation. VR: 820 DM: 880 QR: 900 AR: 870 || Medical Interviews || Over the past two years, I have tutored students from all different backgrounds, aiming for medical schools all across Australia. Of my 13 students in the past two years, 12 got into at least one medical school! Medical interviews are the most important but often most misunderstood part of medicine applications. As someone with first-hand experience of both MMI and panel-style interviews, I can help make sure you are ready to face the wide range of questions that interviews can bring. While every interview preparation site says 'be yourself', it doesn't hurt to also be prepared. Hence, in my sessions, I make sure my students have a good understanding of the ethics underpinning the medical profession, and how to discuss this in the interview setting. I explore common themes for interview questions and how to present answers to be concise but comprehensive. Students are also encouraged to reflect on their own experiences and how best to discuss them, as well as perfect their outward presentation. These sessions are tailored to the preparedness level of each student and universities applied to. Through all this, I make sure that students are ready to present not only themselves but their best selves during interviews.
