About
Hi! My name is Balaji and I’m a first year medical student at Western Sydney University. I graduated from Baulkham Hills High School in 2020 with a 98.8 ATAR. In 2020, I sat the UCAT for the very first time and got a 2890 (88th%ile). In 2021, I resat the UCAT whilst doing a degree at UNSW. I ended up getting a 3320 cognitive score (99th%ile).
During my second attempt, I learned a lot about how to study efficiently and effectively for the UCAT. The three key elements to my success are outlined below:
Understanding the UCAT in its entirety (e.g. why does it exist, what does it test)
A way to accurately diagnose problems and weaknesses and fix it through meticulous and targeted practice
Exam strategies and preparation to reduce stress on the day and enable to perform at my best
UCAT Tutoring Style
Teaching will be structured in the following manner:
Understanding the subtest and question types and specialised techniques to answer each type of subtest as well as study technique
Practicing technique by doing untimed questions in a supervised environment and learning about common pitfalls and methods to overcome weaknesses
Polishing accuracy and subconscious, increasing speed and introducing exam strategies
