Hi, my name is Caitlin, and I am a recent graduate of a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Zoology from the University of Queensland. I am fluent in both French and English and have a strong passion for science and learning. During high school, my strongest subjects were biology, geology, and history, where I achieved excellent marks. My university studies in zoology have further developed my knowledge of biology, ecology, marine science, evolution, and the natural sciences. My teaching style is centred around understanding where each student is at in their learning. I first identify their current level of understanding and any gaps in their knowledge, then work from there to build a strong foundation before moving on to more challenging concepts. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my explanations and approach to suit their individual needs. I aim to make lessons clear, engaging, and encouraging, while creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. As a tutor, I can help students understand challenging concepts, prepare for assessments and exams, and build confidence in their subjects. I can particularly help with biology and other science subjects, as well as French.
