About
Hi, I’m Dorian. Quick question. Do you find studying exhausting? Does re-reading the same notes or PDFs for hours just give you a headache?
Let’s move away from rote learning and last-minute all-nighters and build study methods that actually work.
I graduated as Dux of my high school in 2021 with a 99.70 ATAR, placing 2nd in the state for a General Exhibition as runner-up to the Beazley Medal. I also received two Subject Exhibitions as the top student in Design and Visual Arts, and my work has been published in the ATAR Literature Good Answers (2022) and the poetry anthology Primo Lux.
Now I am a provisional psychologist and Master of Professional Psychology (MPP) student at UWA, having completed a Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) with First Class Honours (WAM 85.4, GPA 6.9). I have over four years of tutoring experience and currently work as a lab demonstrator at UWA, helping students understand difficult concepts and improve their results.
I tutor high school Literature and Psychology, and my teaching style is creative, practical, and tailored to you. Studying should not feel miserable. Whether you learn best through discussion, visual examples, practice essays, memory strategies, or structured study plans, I will help you find an approach that sticks. We can focus on exam preparation, essay writing, content understanding, or building confidence.
Your marks matter, but so does your mental health. My goal is to help you feel more in control of your learning and start seeing real progress.
Tutoring is available in person at UWA or a library near you, or online via Google Meet.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to get started.

Dorian has been tutoring me from June until the ATAR exam and has supported me across all aspects of the ATAR English Literature course, including exam techniques. He assisted me with planning, writing, and editing both in-class and take-home assessments, such as essays, close readings, and creative responses. He also helped me with a major journal/portfolio task that assessed my work across the entire year, in which I received 100%.
Dorian’s guidance and advice significantly improved both my confidence and my grades, with my average increasing by 7% over one semester. I would highly recommend him to any future Literature students. He demonstrated an exemplary work ethic and a genuine commitment to improving his students’ results and confidence in the subject. Dorian created a highly supportive and effective learning environment and contributed positively to the wider school community through his tutoring, all while completing his own studies.

Dorian helped me in preparing for the English WACE exam in 2022. Throughout the tutoring sessions, Dorian employed a teaching style that met my needs as a writer and we were able to brainstorm ideas, review past exams and have a range of discussions in regard to the exam content. His understanding of the WACE exam structure helped me to elevate my own writing. As a result, I was able to develop a strong personal voice in my work which allowed me to expand on my own ideas to create a sophisticated WACE level response. I would recommend Dorian for students looking to improve their writing and their understanding and use of literary techniques, specifically within the ATAR pathway.
