Hi there, I have been a private tutor for 7 years now and have a passion for teaching mathematics. There are some slots that have opened up for 2023 and I am here to offer my services. Academic Background: I graduated from John Monash Science School and then completed my Bachelor's in Engineering and Commerce at Monash University. Currently, I work as a Rail Engineer. Teaching Philosophy: My teaching style is derived from my experiences as a student - knowing what helped me and what didn't. I understand that each student learns differently and has specific strengths / weaknesses. Therefore, when I teach students, I do my best to tailor my teaching specifically for that student. My experiences as a student and tutor, have equipped me with the ability to explain complex concepts in multiple ways and show how they relate to the real-world and also to various other topics in mathematics. Additionally, I request for feedback from my students and listen to them. I always go out of my way to ensure that they are being taught in a way that is most suited for them and in a way that engages them. Classes: I can comfortably deconstruct and explain mathematics concepts for all year levels. Additionally, I can teach General Further, Maths Methods and Specialist Mathematics for VCE students. I'm flexible with my classes. I run classes from home where I can host students, teach online (through Discord) and can even do home visits (for an added cost based on locality). Outside these classes, I give my students the ability to contact me whenever they have questions and need assistance. This way, they don't have to wait until next class to ask for help and they can progress with their work. About me: I love to read whether it is research papers on new studies or books. I'm also an avid PC gamer and enjoy binging TV shows. To balance out these sedantry hobbies, I keep myself fit by lifting weights, playing badminton and practicing my kick-boxing skills.
