About

Hi! I'm a current law and criminology student and am on the direct pathway to Juris Doctor at the University of Western Australia. I graduated from Taylors College in 2021 and was awarded the Global Excellence Scholarship for my performance. I have been tutoring high school students in both Australia and Singapore for the past 2 years, teaching a variety of subjects from year 5 to 10! I have done both face to face and online tutoring hence I am up to date with the technology regarding online learning! I spent more than 14 years in Singapore's demanding education system and completed Cambridge GCE 'O' Levels in 2020 all whilst participating actively in sports and volunteering. I spent a year studying online at Taylors College at the age of 16 before coming to UWA to study. As a result, I am fully aware of how difficult it can be to balance learning, expectations and online learning. I am patient and understanding when it comes to teaching as I believe every student is unique and have a different learning style. Having been through online learning, I can completely sympathise with students having trouble adapting to this new learning style. However, I can assure you that I am able to make online learning fun and interactive all in the comfort of your own home! I wish to show students the beauty in education and in lifelong learning. To me, education is not just about scores and grades, but enjoying the process of gaining more knowledge. My tutorials are never run in the same way for each student as I believe that the "cookie-cutter" approach of teaching is outdated - every student is an individual by themselves and needs an appropriate teaching style that will meet their needs. For the first tutorial, my ultimate goal is to get to know the student and find out what style of teaching suits them best! I use a learning style quiz, discuss about their goals and identify the main issues they're concerned with in terms of the subject. After that, I will then be able to adapt to the student's needs! I have worked at a Primary School back in Singapore where I have come across a variety of students so I am confident that I am able to handle and teach any student! I have also worked with students that are dyslexic and have ADHD so I can understand how to teach them in the most efficient way! Shoot me a message to begin this journey of learning!
