Hi 😊! I’m Matthew, I graduated from Brisbane State High School in 2021 and I’m currently studying a Bachelor/Master of Engineering (Majoring Aerospace) at UQ GPA (6.8/7). As a passionate graduate of BSHS, I aim to provide the necessary resources and support to streamline junior and senior schooling so that you can maintain a healthy relationship with your studies. I graduated with an ATAR of 99.65 and have been tutoring for the past 4 years. Whether you want help on more complex problems, a development of underlying concepts or wanting to learn ahead of the syllabus, I am always willing to help! I also have been collecting resources (and past papers) for the past few years that I'd love to share with you.

Arriving at state high with a music merit after failing both entrance exams, I found it hard and increasingly difficult to balance extra – curricular activities alongside the building pressure from school. This is why I aim to integrate effective study strategies, so you can continue doing the things you love, because health and studies go hand in hand.

Throughout the 2 years that I had Matthew as a tutor for math methods (yr 11 and 12) he was always incredibly consistent and dedicated. He’s extremely knowledgeable and passes on this knowledge through clear explanations and useful simplifications. Alongside his ability to teach, he’s also very friendly and approachable. I highly recommend Matthew, he is extremely flexible with sessions for subjects such as Physics, Math Methods, and Math Specialists. His ability to also teach you the topics at a high standard is also really efficient and the resources he provides for the students has helped me a lot. The additional outside of tutoring hours help has also really helped me when I was stuck on any particular questions. Matthew also steps u step by step on more harder and complex questions so you can understand and learn from it. I highly recommend his tutoring.

Matthew is an amazing and highly experienced tutor! I say this coming from a background where my mathematical foundation was not the strongest - that he is someone who is committed to ensuring students understand QCE maths concepts thoroughly. Was my high school math tutor from years 11-12, always came extremely well prepared with scheduled lessons focused to targeting my weaker sections and was very generous with his time and effort, often answering late night queries within minutes. In addition to cultivating an in-depth understanding of the subjects he imparts in, Matthew employs his expertise by providing concise explanations and diagrams to ensure that his students would also obtain the familiarity of the concept. In instances where his student's comprehension remains elusive, he explores different methods to provide further explanations.
Moreover, when Matthew is acquainted with his students during the lesson, he embodies a committed and uncompromising attitude, such as refusing to conclude the lesson until his students feel implemented with topics they previously found difficult. This is in major contrast to the usual fee / time driven mindset excerpted from other tutors, which only highlights his genuine concern to fulfil the educational journey of his students.
Matthew's dedication is further displayed by generously supplying extensive folders of practice exam papers for his students to guarantee that they would achieve their desired mark on their school exams.
Another factor of his top-notch commitment is observed by his active response to questions online through text or email. From my experience, this was especially useful for last minute questions right before exams and externals.
Additionally, although Matthew himself is a uni-student, he exhibits flexibility in his weekly time table to provide versatile time slots (permanent or temporary) to accommodate for his students' convenience.
Characterized by his commitment, quality, integrity and effectiveness, this on-going tutor deserves a 1000/10 for his tutoring service. I wholeheartedly recommend Matthew as your potential tutor to not only guide but to walk with you through your junior and senior (crucial) years of schooling.

I have had Matthew as a tutor from halfway through grade 11 and throughout all of grade 12. Matthew has been an amazing and supportive tutor not only helping with my marks but with my confidence too. Matthew has a great personality and sense of humour and was available for questions any time. He has always been super flexible with arranging sessions and providing resources based on what I had done that week or did not understand. He has been super easy to talk to and has encouraged me every step of the way, teaching me new ways to study efficiently and giving me amazing resources I otherwise would have not had access to. I would highly recommend him.

Matthew was incredibly helpful in my preparation for the external exams. On top of his wealth of knowledge was extremely patient and made me feel comfortable and supported. I highly recommend Matthew as a tutor, especially for Chemistry! Matthew is an amazing person with a friendly personality and is willing to put in the time and effort to ensure I understand the content being covered in the lesson. Whenever I get tutored, he comes prepared with practice questions/notes on the topic I want to discuss and lets me bring them home for revision. He is always attentive by checking in and making sure I'm following what he is saying and not lost. Because of this, I was able to reach my aim of a 7 in grade 11 HL Chemistry (IB) and saw a great improvement in my marks.

As far as I know, matthew is an exemplar to many tutors. He is extremely dedicated to tutoring by always investing himself to ensure that his students attain and surpass their academic goals. He is often observed preparing lesson plans and materials alongside his own studies and is very passionate about his role as a tutor. He offers a large amount of assistance through both his online and inperson tutoring whether it is with exams or assignments matthew knows how to tackle each case. He has profound knowledge and expertise due to his extensive career in this industry and will leave all students satisfied. He is very kind and understanding and will tailor each lesson accordingly to the student. If matthew isn't studying, he is tutoring!
