Getting into Medicine every year feels more and more difficult. The competitive applicant pool grows, whilst the number of spots stays the same โ and on top of the academic stress, it can be so difficult to wrap your head around the often confusing admissions process.
I can confidently say that Hannah made all the difference in helping me, and a lot of my friends through this period with so much more than the interview tutoring she offers. Genuinely, itโs underselling it to call it just interview tutoring when she essentially acts as your personal mentor โ quick replies, friendly feedback for any concerns you might have and perhaps most importantly making interview prep feel like priceless personal reflection rather than just another hurdle on the way to medicine. I started off being absolutely terrible at interviews, often taking more than five minutes to answer a single question. With Hannahโs strategic and experienced guidance like building a thorough anecdote bank, I became far more confident and articulate in my final interview (thankfully not breaking her 100% UNSW Med interview success rate!). Let's be real, HSC English is incredibly tough! Looking back, I too remember the continuous process of learning, drafting, and editing that made it so taxing, to the point where I felt like giving up so many times. However, Hannah genuinely made all the difference in helping me get through it. Whether that be through providing no-bs lessons that dilute module-specific skills you need to bank 20s, or edit your essays at (no joke) 4 am to allow your ideas to shine through to the markers best, Hannah's unwavering sacrifice for her students, alongside her experience, makes her the best in the game. Personally, I would attribute Hannah's dedication to allowing me to achieve consistent 20s across all modules and internal tasks, culminating in an internal rank of 3rd in Ruse. Friendly and approachable with a ton of experience. It was with her guidance that I was able to go from being in the bottom quartile of the cohort in year 11 to the top quartile in year 12, something I never knew I could achieve. I'll be honest I used to think Hannah's rate was crazy, but now I genuinely think its justified. Hannah almost always has a waitlist, and its because she actually does get the results you want. You get the sense Hannah is actually invested in her student's success treating lessons as more than just a job: she understood and valued my time as a busy HSC student as a top priority which meant only doing 30 min lessons if necessary instead of dragging it out to an hour. She also refined my essay until 4am. Hannah specialises in Ruse teaching, yet she still had such an extensive understanding of what my school teachers wanted. I was able to achieve 1st in my school under her guidance. She's super friendly and actually makes lessons fun. I could message her about anything (e.g. UCAT or just life), and even offered to refer me to a range of tutors to get different opinions, showing she really does want what is best for me. I am looking forward to doing interview prep with her soon!

Even though I was only with Hannah for my trials and externals, she has greatly improved my essays. Before trials I couldn't get above 17, but in trials I significantly improved. This was due to a combination of her going through each line of my essay to make sure it was good, as well as her teaching me the necessary skills of how to adapt to questions. Having recently completed the Eng Advanced external, I feel confident about my marks.

Hannah is a great tutor. She really knows what the teachers are looking for and helps you construct your essay accordingly. This was 100% reflected in my marks. For example, my Mod A essay was a 15 in the first assessment but got a 20 in trials. I never would have expected I would do so consistently well in english. Hannah has been my tutor since year 11 and I have excelled under her guidance. For advanced english, I finished 3rd in my cohort with full marks in Mod A, B and C, and only marks lost in short answers. She has a comprehensive understanding of the texts she teaches with fantastic resources that she is very willing to share. Hannah also makes time at the end of each lesson to go through 1-2 medical interview questions to help me improve little by little. I am very excited to continue with Hannah for interview prep after my externals - she really is the best tutor I have ever come across. Outside of lessons she is always willing to support me with her kind and friendly manner. Honestly, going to Hannah is extremely worthwhile - she knows that busy HSC students just want to do what gets marks, so she makes each lesson very focussed on improving the essay quality, rather than going too far into depth on other things that don't necessarily help the essay overall. Hannah was an amazing English Advanced tutor! She would meticulously go over my essays during lessons and pinpointed mistakes that I otherwise wouldn't have realised. With her help, English became much more easier to tackle, and I saw an improvement in my grades. Even only during the last term between the trial and HSC period, Hannah has greatly improved my essays especially as while she not only goes over what mistakes can be fixed, but she rewrites your own sentences, so you can see yourself the improvement in your work. Also her interview training for UNSW was especially useful in gaining additional insight and tips specifically related to UNSW and not just any university in general.

Hannah has been a constant support throughout my trials. She helped me go from a low B-range to consistent 19s and 20s across all modules. While some tutors just simply tell you what is wrong with your work, Hannah actually shows you how to fix it by rewriting some of your sentences so you can properly see the correct way to write it with a direct example from your own work. She also has a large collection of exemplars for all modules, as well as her own essays that she also shares, which I found to be really beneficial too. I have been with Hannah for 3 assessments so far and my rank has improved from 76 to 14.

I am very grateful for the support and guidance I received from Hannah. Before working with her, I consistently scored around 17 or 18 out of 20 on my essays. While those marks were solid, I struggled to reach the highest band of marks. Through her teaching, I was able to elevate my work to achieve 20/20s.

Hannah Ku was an excellent tutor! I came to her barely getting As in my english exams and came to Hannah being ranked 89th at the end of year 11. Her excellent attentiveness to helping my improve my essay writing and going over texts in detail and even marking all my essays when I sent them over to her at 4am helped me to get consistent As in year 12. She also encouraged me to consistently practice my reading paper questions and provided extensive feedback which helped me to get top marks in common module.
