About

Hello, I'm Jo Ee Ng. I graduated from Cherrybrook Technology High School in 2021 and have had years of tutoring experience with great student testimonials from my students in 2022 & 2023 (refer to reviews). My academic achievements include a 95+ Atar, #3 State Rank & Band 6 in Japanese beginners, Business Studies and PDHPE. I'm studying Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Sydney and is accepted to the Dalyell Scholar Stream. I've studied English Advanced, Mathematics Advanced, Japanese Beginners, Business Studies, and PDHPE for HSC. It has always been my dream and passion to teach and help others since I was a kid. This reminded me of my six year old self teaching my soft toys with a whiteboard in my room. Having navigated the challenges of HSC myself, I understand the significance of concise notes aligned with the HSC syllabus, comprehensive content knowledge, and a structured approach to answering questions for optimal marks. Hence, my tutoring approach revolves around focusing on these key aspects, alongside sharing tips and tricks I acquired during my HSC years, emphasising the importance of "studying smart" over "studying hard." My lessons are meticulously structured to cover essential content, build confidence in responding to questions, and address individual needs, whether it be specific topic assistance, homework, or assignments. Recognising the diverse requirements of my students (e.g. need help with homework, assignments etc), I tailor lessons to meet their unique needs, ensuring a personalised learning experience. As an optional service, I offer assistance in tracking the student's progress in their note taking and practice papers to promote effective study habits and preparation for exams (e.g. Japanese speaking script, past papers done etc.). Additionally, I collaborate with students to plan their study schedule, to ensure that they have organised notes and resources for the exam, preventing last minute note taking or preparation. Moreover, I'm happy to work with my student to plan ahead of their term (planning the time for their individual revision, etc). I offer to assist my students beyond traditional tutoring service as I'm a believer that procrastination, unorganised study plan/notes, and last minute are the main areas apart from content knowledge that affect students from performing at their best. Student Review: I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank you for the immense support you have shown me throughout my y12 HSC journey. Following my struggle to understand and excel in business studies, we had began our tutoring sessions. Not only was I shocked at the lengthy preparation you had gone through for each lesson but I was further shocked at the work you would prepare week in and week out to ensure I understood what we went through each previous lesson. Not only did this increase my motivation to succeed but gave me a greater understanding of what to expect in the HSC finals. For this reason I’m grateful to say business studies was my highest mark increasing from an average mark of 70% to the 88% I received in my finals. - Theo Platform: Online (Zoom) Time: If your time doesn't suit the one I have, feel free to message me and we can work around it! Jo E is an amazing business studies and pdhpe tutor that helped me a lot in my senior years of high school. She was always punctual when it came to lesson timings and would always let me know days in advance if a session time needed to be changed. She would go out of her way to constantly update and create a working timetable for students to keep on top of concerning work subjects and assignments that needed to be done. She has a very kind and approachable persona as she was always willing to share her personal notes for certain subjects with me:)

Jo Ee has tutored me in Japanese beginners from year 12 and I have noticed a drastic improvement in both my language skill and marks in school assessments and tests. Her lessons are highly organised with many resources and her teaching ability is also outstanding. She always focuses her attention on students and makes sure they understand the content thoroughly by providing great explanations and asking questions. I felt like she really prepared me for the HSC and I thoroughly recommend her to other students studying Japanese.

Jo Ee has been an awesome Japanese tutor. She has gone above and beyond to help me, whether that would be teaching content or answering my questions outside of our tutoring lessons! I started lessons with Jo Ee at the end of term 2 and could notice a difference in my Japanese abilities straight away. She found my weaknesses and we worked on improving those right away through practice. My confidence in class automatically increased. She has helped me raise my rank all the way from second last to third within two terms. Her organised and structured lessons made it extremely easy to follow along and fully grasp the content. She also provided additional resources and lessons for me to make sure I could perform to the best of my ability on my hsc exam day. Her encouragement, friendly manner and extensive knowledge on the Japanese beginners course has made her one of my favourite teachers and mentor, highly recommend Jo Ee as a tutor!

Jo Ee has been an amazing tutor who really worked hard to help me improve my results. I started tutoring with her during term 2 of year 12, and my results have significantly increased from a 75% to a 95% within a few weeks. Jo Ee is always keen to help even when it is not during tutoring lessons, she offers her full attention and is a highly expert tutor when it comes to teaching and addressing the student's weakness points. She pointed out my weaknesses through the drafts I submitted and provided me with extensive feedback and extra practice questions to address my issues. Additionally, Jo Ee provided me with a lesson plan and extensive resources that will certainly ensure that I can achieve the highest band at the end of my HSC journey.
