Hey everyone, my name is Manik and I graduated from Haileybury College (Melbourne) in 2021 with an ATAR of 99.70. I'm currently studying a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at the Australian National University. Over the course of the last two years I have gained 400+ hours in private tutoring, and I will be offering tutoring in 2024 for English (all levels, with a focus on Year 11 and 12), and Mathematics (all levels). To kick things off, I just want to say: you don’t need ‘natural ability’ to excel in English. You also don’t need to have a ‘passion for reading books’. Surprisingly, you also don’t need to be personally inclined towards philosophical analyses on the Roman Empire or Michael Jackson’s early childhood. I’m glad if those things interest you - but, although helpful, they are not required. For some insight, I scored full marks on the final exam for Argument Analysis, despite being a Cs and Bs English student up until Year 11. Arguably, it’s a harder section to master since it’s the only section done on the fly. But, I found it to be very formulaic. And, by looking at things the right way, I also found it to be very learnable. English is a notoriously confusing subject, especially considering how broad and open to interpretation it is. I have found myself, and many other students, initially struggling to grasp the gist of the subject. However, do rest assured that my hands-on, individually-focused, and formula-based (and widely approved) approach will help your understanding and skills. Drastically. I’ve have a plethora of resources to teach with, of which many are self-made. This means that the advice and structure that I teach is tailor made, and understood to its core - since I developed the resources myself. It has assisted many students to excel in their studies, including myself (backed by results).
